Collaborating with 3 year old Tallulah Jade Rainbow

I have a secret to share and I am very excited about it! But before I get to that, here are some recent news on what's happening creatively. I have just created this 2 min 40 sec promotional teaser video, collaborating with my artist-toddler, for a 1 year long workshop Life Book 2016, were I was invited to teach online next year. Here - she pushed me out of my comfort zone and shocked once again:

The actual video of us painting will be released here on 18th January:

Soooo... Since the secret is related to me and Tallulah, here is few words about her.

Tallulah Jade Rainbow Hamman is my 3 and a half year old daughter who is painting large abstracts from the age of 1 year and 3 months:

TallulahPainting02

At the age of 3 Tallulah already completed over 30 large acrylics on canvas and had her 1st successful solo exhibition in June 2015 in Hermanus, South Africa, where many of her works here sold.

It all started accidentally, as I was looking for a ways to keep her busy while I paint, so I gave her canvas and paint. She got busy, and something marvellous happened: the artworks were pure fearless expression of a child's heart and they were vibrant, complex and beautiful.

Here is a video of Tallulah making a painting on her own, beginning to end:

To see more of her videos and completed artworks, read about her process, bog post about exhibition, tips and tricks on how to start painting with your baby, and many more things, please visit Tallulah's blog that I ran on her behalf:

Let's get to the point - at last!

I am working on 2-3 week workshop called "Fearless Expression" that I pan to release approximately February next year. It involves sharing Tallulah's painting process and our collaboration, where I will talk about concept of fearless art and how to approach it as a mother, grandmother and an artist. I have already filmed great deal of material and busy gathering my thoughts together into exciting and original plan. I can only tell at this point that it's going to be something quite different!

Let's Face It!

Dear creative friends!

I cannot believe 2015 is coming to an end, and what a creative year it has been! I am almost overwhelmed to think about next busy year ahead of me. It seems like I will be teaching in 3 large workshops together with other teachers. Plus 3 entries for Stencil Girl Products – wow!

I know some of you have been asking my to refer you to a fresh face painting workshop out there, and I could not give a definite answer on it up until my new discovery now:

The recent invitation I have received and accepted was from all year round workshop “Let’s Face It 2016” hosted by wonderful Kara Bullock. 17 fabulous teachers will be presenting videos for the whole year on huge variety of techniques related to painting faces: realistic, expressive, whimsical, profiles, three quarter, face forward, with shoulders and even with whole body attached to it, lol. Everything is covered on faces, plus more. I will be doing face profile in acrylics with palette knives and later in the year whole body: face, figure, hands, feet, plus detailed composition all around, almost like in my workshop “Soulful Art” , but well different.

Prepare to be amazed! Who are the teachers? Some girls I know via FB and they are totally awesome: Olga Furman, Ivette Newport, Robin Laws, Angela Kennedy, and many more names you will recognize if you go to check out this page: LETS FACE IT

Look at some other teachers’ work! OMG, I wanna paint like that:

Juna Biagioni

Ady Almanza

Lucy Brydon

I will be honest, if I wasn’t invited as a teacher there – I would have signed up! Because it is always an awesome idea to learn painting faces from others. I adore faces and so very very excited to be a student of this course, let alone teaching in it!

I hope to see some of you on the workshop next year and lets create together. (Shshshsh.... I believe it is last couple of weeks of early bird discount there!)

Teaching on Life Book 2016 + Give Away time!

Hello dear artists-friends! Some really awesome news this time!

iteachonlb20161

I am going to be teaching on Life Book 2016 next year! I feel very privileged and grateful, and humbled to be invited to teach amongst other 23 most incredible and talented teachers.

And even MORE exciting news is that I can give away 1 space on this amazing YEAR LONG art course! Keep reading if you want to find out more about Life Book 2016, and if you want to find out how you can win a spot! :)

First let me tell you a bit more about Life Book in case you haven't heard about it yet. “Life Book, a celebration and honouring of YOU” is a year-long mixed media art class organised by Tamara Laporte from Willowing Arts. Tam is joined by 23 incredible art teachers who are sharing their mixed media techniques, tips and tricks with you in well filmed exciting video tutorials weekly – FOR THE WHOLE YEAR. Themed around self-development and healing, you’ll be creating several loose mixed media art journal pages per month which by the end of the year you will bind into a glorious journal (a Life Book).

It’s like, you won’t be able to get away from being creative for the duration of 2016, constantly inspired, constantly stimulated. I personally need it in my life.

This is all very new for me, I only just found out about this Life Book now, and it’s been running for 5 years already with like 22 THOUSAND members on the Willowing.org (omg – where have I been?!). With 8.700 people who have done Life Book in previous years. I am like… speechless. And it’s suitable to all levels of art. Apparently the price is unbelievably good for a 1 year long workshop, so definitely check it out by clicking HERE.

I haven't fully developed my class idea yet. I am planning to come up with a class related to the style that you can see on the below painting, or who knows – maybe even something more awesome? :) It will all depend on a theme of the month that will be allocated to me, but regardless of the theme I will make sure to spoil you all with something very inspirational!
